Terms and Conditions — Auto-Maat Driving School
Note: These terms and conditions were drawn up in Dutch and the Dutch version is legally binding. The English translation below is provided for information purposes only.
These Terms and Conditions were established in consultation with all driving schools affiliated with Auto-Maat Driving School, and take effect from 1 January 2025.
Definitions
- Test: A test moment such as the driving ability assessment, theory exam, practical exams (AVB, AVD, B, B-H, AM2, BE, etc.), the Interim Driving Test (TTT) or the Code 95 test;
- Practical training: A practical driving lesson;
- Practical training package: The lesson agreement for a fixed number of lessons or for a fixed period;
- Examination body: The Central Bureau of Driving Licences (CBR) / the Bureau for Further Driving Ability Assessment (BNOR) or another examination body;
- In writing: In writing or electronically.
Article 1 – Applicability
The Terms and Conditions apply to lesson agreements concluded between students and driving schools affiliated with Auto-Maat Driving School.
Article 2 – The Agreement
1. The lesson agreement specifies the type of training:
- Theory training;
- Practical training;
- A practical training package;
- Other training.
2. The lesson agreement is recorded in writing. The student receives a copy of the lesson agreement.
Article 3 – Obligations of the driving school
The driving school is obliged to ensure:
- That lessons are provided by instructors who meet the requirements of the Motor Vehicle Driving Instruction Act (WRM);
- That lessons are provided by the same instructor as much as possible;
- That the instructor regularly informs the student about their progress, also in relation to the exam requirements;
- That the application for a test is entered into the relevant examination body's application file within 2 weeks of payment;
- That the student can take the driving ability assessment in the lesson vehicle used during training on the scheduled date and time;
- That the agreed duration of a lesson is fully used for that lesson;
- That the driving school has taken out liability insurance with a minimum coverage of €2,500,000;
- That the student is informed which medical conditions may affect their right to drive a vehicle;
- That the student is informed that their residency status determines their right to obtain a driving licence;
- That the student is told they must report if their authority to drive a motor vehicle has been withdrawn.
